Goodbye. Adios. Ciao. Sayonara. Aloha. Ta-ta. Adiu. Tschüs.

Farewell, Matchplay

It all started back in 1996, and today it ends. Matchplay finishes its 11-year run as a happy, sometimes pungent, haven to the south bay gaming community.

The Fighting Hellfish have been regulars in one way or another from the start, although we didn't officially name ourselves and dot com our presence until 2003.

There is no crying in gaming. (Unless you've just faced Donovan's gatling earthshaker). Fear not, because the Fighting Hellfish are bigger than any single store.

The dice must keep rolling.

So this week, we'll be playing at
Game Kastle in Santa Clara on Washington and Newhall. It's behind the Rotten Robbie gas station.

We're still meeting on the same day of the week, but a little earlier, because it's further away for some people. The store also closes at 10pm, but supposedly the game room stays open later.

Open Gaming: Warhammer 40,000

Warhammer 40,000 Little League has officially ended. Our last league in Mountain View ended with a bang.

Congratulations to Jeff "Catfish" K. for winning the league. Also much thanks to Jeff K. and Rick for running a great, fun-filled league.

This week, it's open gaming. Since Kublacon and the Las Vegas GT will be 1,750 points, this week, bring 1,750 of 40k goodness.

Big changes are in store for the Fighting Hellfish. And when we say store, we mean the store we've been playing at for nearly a decade.

Our long time venue of choice is getting the boot from its current location. Evidently, the area that was Neutral Ground and is now, Matchplay, will soon become Home Depot's new lumber department. Matchplay will be closing their doors either at the end of February or March.

Fret not, little hellfry. Rumors point to the fact that the management of Matchplay will be finding another fish bowl for us to swim in.

Still, everyone should get together next Thursday 2/23 for us to discuss other options. We need to keep them dice rolling.

Happy New Year Fellow Fighting Hellfish.

The start of another year brings the end of the Warhammer Fantasy league.

The Warhammer Little League was a great success. After two months of vicious battles it all came down to Sean and Bryan C. In the end, it was a tight game, but Bryan C. was able to pull off a narrow victory. Thanks to everyone for participating and congrats to the champion Bryan C.
