BASIC RULE SETS
(version 1.0, updated 16 sep 2005)

All rules from WARMACHINE: Prime, Escalation, and Apotheosis will be used!

LISTS

WEEK # 1 (Tues. 9/20/05): Each player is expected to have TWO lists containing their approved Warcaster. Each list must have one varying model or unit. Please know that changing the unit size will NOT constitute as a ?different? list. Adding a ?solo? or ?jack? will constitute as a new list, but changing 8 trenchers and 7 long gunners to 7 trenchers and 8 long gunners will not meet this criterion.

OPTIONAL: If you would like to try the epic warcasters, please create an additional 500-pt list (List #3) which includes the epic version of your warcaster. (PROXY: Epic warcaster proxies will be allowed for this league!) Also make a photocopy of your epic warcaster's character stats from Apotheosis.

MODELS

Proxy ? Proxies WILL be allowed for this league. However, the proxy MUST be identifiable on the battlefield. Different primer color, lone Cygnar model in a Cryx army, ONLY based model in an unbased army, etc. are all acceptable methods of proxying. Using a generic pewter Trencher in a Cygnar army with 10 other unprimed and unbased Trenchers is unacceptable. If you do decide to use a proxy, it is YOUR responsibility to provide a photo copy of the unit/model's stat sheet for your opponent to review! I remember his/her/their stats and hand written/typed character stats will NOT work! Please use common sense.

GAMES
Week numbers 1, 3, & 5, the league commissioner will schedule games for players, and the game match ups will be posted approximately 24 hours in advance. If you cannot make it to a league night, it is expected that players will have the decency to contact their opponent to reschedule their game(s).

I fully understand that sometimes family, work, and personal emergencies will arise. Warmachine is a game, so please do not jeopardize your personal well being for it! However, I will ask everyone to please be considerate, because sometimes a 45-second e-mail may save someone 45 minutes of driving!

RULE OF ODDS

Unfortunately, some players will not be able to make it to every league night, so there may be instances where an odd number of players make it to MatchPlay. I will also create some interesting and fun 3 players games, so players will not be sitting on the sidelines for an extended length of time. I will also award 1-point to players who decide to participate in the three player free-for-all games. The free for all games will take the place of the normal 1:1 games.

GAME FORMAT

Week # 1, 3, 5
Standard 500-point games on 4x4 tables. Two games per night. Each round is limited to 75 minutes. 15 minutes setup and 60 minutes of game time. Delaying the game by leaving the table unannounced (without your opponent's consent) or stalling the game will result in automatic forfeiture of the current game. I will give a player one warning and one warning only.

Week # 2, 4, 6
ONE team game will be played on these weeks. Each game is limited to 2 hours with appx. 90 minutes of gaming time + 30 min to setup. Teams will be chosen randomly by each player rolling a 1D6. Teams will be decided based on odds and evens. 500 points per player. Game size will vary depending on the number of players who show up. Games will either be 2:2 on 4x6 tables or 3:3 on 4x8 tables.

I know that team games get long and unorganized, so I will be running this by the book and off the clock.

05 minutes - Table setup
05 minutes - Pick teams and decide first turn and
deployment initiative.
10 minutes - Discuss general and deployment strategy
10 minutes - Deployment
2 hours - Game on!

*** Please keep communication to a minimum during YOUR turn. Speak with your teammate(s) during your opponent's turn ONLY.

LEAGUE SCORING

Here is how league scores will be recorded. Players will score one point for every game they participate in, regardless of outcome. Four (+4) additional points are awarded to players who managed to dominate the game by luck or skill. Three (+3) additional points will be awarded to players who barely managed to squeeze a win. Two bonus (+2) point will be award to those who put up a good fight but got out maneuvered in the end. And finally one (+1) bonus points will be awarded to the unfortunately few who get pummeled by their opponent, but was sportsmanlike enough to actually finish the game. Two additional points will be awarded to all players who participate in the biweekly team games! Please know that all team game victories will be considered minor!

+5 Major Victory
+4 Minor Victory
+3 Minor Defeat
+2 Major Defeat
(+2) Team game Participation, week #2,4,6
(+1) Free for all Participation (Rule of Odds)

DEFINING MAJOR VS. MINOR VICTORY

Most scenarios played in the league will involve completing specific game objectives. The player who manages to complete the most objective(s) will win the game. Major/Minor will be decided based on victory points. Once a game is completed, each player will tally up all the victory points they have accumulated this game (destroyed jacks, warcasters, infantry, etc.). If the scenario winner manages to complete the mission objectives while accumulating more victory points than their opponent, then he/she will score a ?major? victory. If the opponent possesses more victory points, or they manage to score a tie, then victory will only be a ?minor? victory. Example: If the player only has one model on the board, but somehow manages to complete the mission objective, then she/he will achieve a minor victory.

If a player is wiped out, (no models left on the
table, and/or no means to bring more models on), then
the remaining player will always score a ?major?
victory.

LEAGUE RECOGNITIONS
