WEEK 11 (25 mar 04)

Play of the Week:
(as reported by Andrew T.)

Alexei's Imperial Guard vs. Donovan's Chaos

The appearance of the Ordo Malleus was one thing that Chaos had not forseen. The Grey Knight Battle Brother stood proud, bathed in the light of the Emperor, as he awaited the foul minions of Chaos that were charging forward into the Imperial Guard firing line.

Then he spied it. The Bloodthirster. Drawing his force weapon he charged the daemon. His weapon was deflected by the brass armour but he reversed his swing and caught the greater daemon's underside. The light of the Emperor flashed in the force weapon and the Bloodthirster was banished to the warp.

A warm feeling rushed over him. Blood spilled from his cracked terminator armour. He noticed the glaive buried in his midsection as his entrails bubbled around the sucking wound.

The Battle Brother spun and shoved his blade deep into the Daemonprince of Khorne that had mortally wounded him. Calling on the Emperor, his vision blurred. The last thing he saw was the light of the Emperor banishing the fell prince to the warp.

WEEK 10 (18 mar 04)

Play of the Week:
(as reported by Andrew T.)

Mike D.'s Eldar vs. Jeff K.'s Tau

Being caught out in the middle of the desert in a thunderstorm is not a good thing. Being caught out in the middle of the desert surrounded by Tau is even a worse idea. The Tau opened up a can of whup-tushie and for 2 turns shook it all over the Eldar. Farseers scrye warpstones for clues how to fit Wraithlords behind cactus and camoflage Waveserpents with tumbleweeds.

WEEK 9 (11 mar 04)

Play of the Week:
(as reported by Andrew T.)

The action was too fast and too furious to state only one play of the week. Here are the events worthy of recognition:

1) Shredder can't cut the cheese.
Donovan's Chaos vs. Mike's Eldar

Mike's wraithlord ducked and dodged the fury of blows from Donovan's glaive weilding Daemonprince of Khorne, only to connect with a wraithbone uppercut to the Prince's jaw felling the abominable being. The normally stoic wraithlord pumped it's fists in the air expecting the accolades from his teammates but was welcomed with an empty silence...The Eldar managed to banish the Bloodthirster and Daemonprince of Khorne to the warp, but were unable to halt the rampaging Chaos horde.

2) Aw, who are we kidding...
Robert's Blood Angels vs. Patrick's Ultramarines

Although the Blood Angels are known for their vehement hand to hand abilities, Robert proved that one should fear their ranged weaponry as well. Patrick was unable to hide his Ultramarine vehicles from the righteous fury of the Sanguinary missiles and melta blasts. The typically shooty Ultramarines tried to return the favor but found that their shots could not destroy the Blood Angels. Therefore, the Ultramarines resorted to close combat to cleanse the battlefield of the blood thirsty brothers.

3) Fast as fast can be, you'll never catch me....uh damn.
Sean's Dark Eldar vs. Jeff's Tau

Shaso Jeff deployed his Tau battle line as far away from the enemy as the terrain would allow. He smuggly smiled as he thought of the piles of Dark Eldar bodies that would litter the area infront of his Firewarriors. However, Sean did not recieve the memo that he was supposed to be shredded and managed to unleash an impressive 26 inch assault move with his wyches on Turn 1. Those familiar with Asop's Fables will no doubt understand how fast isn't necessarily better as Jeff managed to recover and halt the Dark Eldar slave trade.

WEEK 8 (4 mar 04)

Play of the Week:
(as reported by Andrew T.)

Jeff K.'s Tau vs. Steven M.'s Orcs

“Eh ‘deres no cova ere!” screamed Thrasha as searing bolts sizzled the air around him, “we’s gonna be cooked reals good.” He and the rest of da boyz scrambled for the lone rock to hide behind just as a seeker missile zoomed over their heads at their looted basilisk.
“Git moving,” roared Ghaz at the huddled mass of green squeeze behind the rock, “’em Tau ain’t good at shooin’ much.”

“Gork save me,” cried Thrasha as he buried deeper behind the rock, “ouuchhh.” Intense heat flared from his anterior posterior and caused him to leap skywards. “Em Tau learnt how to shoot betta.”
“Shut yours face,” bellowed Ghaz, “Funny dat dey can’t rokket our truxx, but dey can shoot yous rump.”

***

Shas’lelesla scratched his head in consternation. Somehow his multi-tracking targeting seeker missiles had missed their target. There were no systems errors. The marker lights had illuminated the target and Shesla never missed. Yet somehow the looted orc vehicles dodged the volley of seeker missiles. Even more confusing to Sas’lelesla was the fact that one of his firewarriors had tattooed a green skin hiding behind the lone rock in the desert.

WEEK 7 (26 feb 04)

Play of the Week:
(as reported by Andrew T.)

Steve M.'s Orcs vs. Andrew's Sisters of Battle

Green tide. Rip tide. Blood stains. The one thing that the Orcs didn’t count on was the stain-removing power of the purging flames.

A unit of Seraphim swooped from cover to clamp explosives on a desecrated and looted rhino transport. After reclaiming the rhino from alien grips, the Seraphim twirled towards the Basilisk that was crying to be freed of the goblin’s curse.

A precisely placed melta bomb released the anguished spirit and restored the Imperium’s machine. Not satisfied with the liberation of Imperial vehicles, the Seraphim began to torch the Orcs with her righteous fury. The angelic beings received accolades for the redemptive embrace bestowed upon the lost vehicles.
