HAPPENINGS+++
Happy
Halloween's Eve everyone.
A
year? It’s been a year since our last update? Well, we’re
not going to leave 2009 without at least having one news update.
So we wrapped up the Call
to Arms Tour 5 league
way back in December 2008. Can’t quite remember who won. There
were four categories–that much is true. But the rest is a
bit hazy.
The winners may have been, (and that’s a big maybe): Pat,
Jeff K, Graham and perhaps, Sean for overall?
Anyways, that’s all in the past. It was a fun league with
a great spin on the traditional Call to Arms rules.
Moving forward, we don’t have any leagues or tournaments planned.
What we love about playing at Game
Kastle
is that there’s a genuine, bona fide Events Coordinator to
plan everything for us. That’s not to say that we won’t
be running any official events in the future, but for now, our dice
rolling schedule is being handled excellently by Game
Kastle.
Check out their schedule.

Open
Gaming : Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy, Warmachine/Hordes
Thursday
is our traditional game night for the past 10+ years. It’s
also quite the smorgasbord of gaming with club members playing everything
from 40k to Warhammer Fantasy to Warmachine/Hordes. Come on by and
get some game in, or just chit chat about the latest happenings
with your favorite gaming system.
+++SATURDAY+++
Open
Gaming : Infinity
Kevin
Be., Loo and Jeff C. have been playing Infinity
on Saturday. It’s a great 28mm scale game that has absolutely
stunning figures. The mechanics of the game are also really unique
and refreshing. Bring 12-15 proxy figures on Saturday and the guys
can show you how to play.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS+++
2009
Warhammer Fantasy 'Ard Boyz
Back
in September, a bunch of Fighting Hellfish played in the Prelmiary
Round for Warhammer Fantasy. Jeff K. and Sean made it to the Semi-Finals
which was just held this past weekend at Great Escape Games in Sacramento
With the top 18 Warhammer Fantasy players in Northern California,
the competition was fierce.
Poor Jeff K. had a bad case of the Onesies and Twosies and finished
in 14th place, while Sean fared better and ended up in the middle
of the pack with 9th overall. Not too shabby, considering they’ve
only been playing the last few months.
2009
Warhammer 40,000 'Ard Boyz
Our
tournament regular, Jeff K. played in the Warhammer 40,000 Semi-Finals
on August 9. He finished the tournament in 5th place. Unfortunately,
only the top three players move on to the Finals. Better luck next
year, Jeff.
2009
Kublacon Warhammer 40,000
For
Memorial Day weekend, in our own backyard, a number of Fighting
Hellfish played in the Warhammer 40,000 tournament at the Kublacon
Game Convention in Burlingame, CA. Jeff K. finished 6th overall
and Andrew finished 5th. overall. Eric, Loo and Bryan C. also got
busy on the ol’ 4 x 6, but came up short. Better to swing
the bat, then not show up at the plate. Go 2010.
