Matchplay, Mountain View, California

Don, Donovan and Todd glue together their warpacks before the big event.

We had some new faces show up for the event––welcome!

Preparing the fields of battle.

We had a total of 10 4x4 tables. A beautiful sight.

Mmmmm. More terrain

Possibly the best gaming terrain in the Bay Area.

Soon this quiet, peaceful village will be the scene of mass carnage as opposing factions clash.

The swamp. Another great setup.

The Ruins.

If you listen very carefully, you can almost hear the calm before the storm. . .

3pm--still gluing fingers together. We need some martinis.

Still gluing.

Bryan (who's had his box set since August) is anxious to start and goads everyone onward.

After trying to assemble a Cyclops for 45 minutes, Rick doesn’t look so happy. Maybe he needs a nap. (Maybe he should build like he has a pair.)

Battles commence in the background. But where's Jeff?

Sean, the Clubber, looks for his first baby seal. He takes on the Kevin. Down the line Dave and Bryan are fighting it out. Way in the back we see John. But where's Jeff?

Oh, there's Jeff, our lanquid catfish, still working on his warpack. Maybe it was because he was the last one to show up and arrived half an hour after the event started? Nah.

Ray flexes his might for all to see. Even his superpowers cannot speed up the Catfish.

Our Fighting Hellfish Hordes ladder.

A lone Shredder is being hacked to pieces by a troll warpack….but their victory could be short lived as a mighty Carnivean storms around a building, intent on sinking it’s teeth in troll flesh.

Todd prepares for battle.

The Clubber tries to take a wack at the baby seal, Donovan. But alas, the seal wacks back. Donovan, who has never played Hordes before, and not even a Warmachine game before, wins the whole event. Congrats.
